Information about the Coronavirus

As you are aware, the government recently updated their guidance with regard to coronavirus. The Department for Education has also issued additional guidance to schools. I wanted to write to keep you fully up to date with the most recent advice and hopefully answer any questions that you may have.

School closures:

The government has advised against school closures at this point.  As a result, we will remain open to all pupils and continue with business as usual. If this changes, we will contact parents immediately via text message.

We have set up a page on the website with details around work to complete in the event of a closure and this can be found here

What to do if your child feels unwell:

The following symptoms have been identified by the government:

  • A new and continuous cough and/or
  • a high temperature or fever (above 37.8 degrees)

If your child presents with these symptoms, you should seek advice from the 111 on-line service (www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19).  If it is necessary for your child to be absent, please contact the school attendance team in the usual way.
