SMSC Restart a Heart
Castleford Academy is delighted to announce that we have achieved the National ‘Gold’ SMSC Quality Mark, awarded to us by The Citizenship Foundation. This means that as a school, we pride ourselves in working to ensure that children and young people are able to make a positive difference to the society in which they live – locally, nationally and globally.
Another achievement which we are really proud of is that, on Tuesday the 16th October, Year 8 students took part in the national event: Re-Start a Heart Day. This is an annual event in which a variety of volunteers from different agencies (St John Ambulance, British Heart Foundation, and Yorkshire Ambulance) teach our students how to perform CPR. Which means 271 of our students have learnt a new life saving skill!
