Macmillan Coffee Morning 2018
There are now 2.5 million people in the UK living with Cancer. Macmillan Cancer Support provides medical, emotional, practical and financial support, as well as campaigning for better cancer care. Following the huge success of last year’s Macmillan Coffee Morning where Prefects raised £491.17, this year’s Year 11 Prefect Team were determined to make the event bigger and better!
Staff and Senior Prefects were asked to bake, and we were not disappointed. A mammoth amount of delicious and wonderful cakes, buns, biscuits, doughnuts (you name it!) were collected on the morning of the sale and allocated to all year groups break areas ready for sale. We even had some lovely vegan and dairy free options available to our students, yum! Not only did the Senior Prefects do a marvellous job at baking, they also served students and staff alike and were an absolute credit to the school.
Overall, we raised £515.40, beating last year’s total. Thank you to all parents who supported the event by baking with their children or sending their child with a little extra money to buy some sweet stuff. A special thank you to Tom - Head Boy and Amy – Head Girl, who organised the event and made it the best one yet.
