Castleford Academy Trust are seeking to appoint an unqualified Primary PE Teacher.

We are looking to appoint a talented individual to join our strong and committed team. Castleford Academy Trust is vibrant and dynamic Trust that is looking for an inspirational Unqualified PE Teacher to work across the Trust’s primary phase. They will provide PE coaching and CPD for colleagues, lunch time and after school sports clubs and fixtures in a wide variety of sports. They will also be required to provide PE lessons and some curriculum lessons, PPA and/or sickness cover for class teachers and carry out intervention work with groups of pupils. 

Unqualified Trust PE Teacher

Unqualified 1 -6 (£15,817 - £25,016) 

1 Year Temporary​

The successful candidate will: 

      • ​Be willing to work towards QTS as part of the teacher training programme

      • Have passion for and experience of delivering a cross section of sports and multi-skills

      • Understand how children learn most effectively

      • Demonstrate care, patience and understanding

      • Be a team player with good interpersonal skills who takes the initiative when necessary

      • Be committed to high standards of behaviour and achievement

      • Have good literacy, numeracy and communication skills

      • Have confidence to provide class cover on a regular basis

      • Plan and teach whole class lessons, in PE and other curriculum subjects when require

      • Assist in the preparation of the classroom for the activities planned

      • Contribute, where necessary, to any discussion of pupils’ needs and progress

      • Participate in and deliver any relevant staff development activities

      • Assist in meeting the children’s needs for encouragement and reassurance

      • Encourage pupils’ independence.

      • Deliver high quality extra-curricular clubs (during and after school) and fixtures

      • Ensure the Primary Sports premium grant creates opportunities for children to experience competitive sports experiences beyond their own setting​​​
