37hrs per week, term time plus 10 days

Actual Salary £33,169 - £36,052

Grade 11, SCP 42 - 45 (£36,937 - £39,660 FTE)

Following government reform and the development of the Multi Academy Trust, we are in a position to offer an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, dynamic, motivated, inspirational business officer to take the next step in their career.

You will support the Director of Business in providing high quality strategic, business, operations and financial planning to ensure Castleford Academy and the Multi Academy Trust meets its aims and objectives.

Your application will need to demonstrate that you can:

    • Demonstrate proven leadership in a commercial or school environment.
    • Provide effective and efficient financial, personnel and facilities management at Castleford Academy.
    • Design and implement systems, policies and procedures to ensure compliance in all legislation relating to the academy including finance, health and safety and human resources.
    • Produce detailed reports/policy documents, advising stakeholders on the findings of projects/reviews.
    • Prepare school budgets working with the Senior Leadership Team, Director of Business and Governors in line with the school development plan.
    • Analyse complex data and information and use this to monitor and support activities to promote solutions.
    • Provide advice and guidance on all areas of health and safety including risk assessments, audits logs, etc.
    • Develop effective relationships with staff, pupils, parents, governors, local businesses and stakeholders with evidence of success in building and forming working relationships across professional and operational boundaries.
    • Understand the importance of policies for safeguarding children and young people.

    • Advanced computer skills including spreadsheets and database software.
    • Planned and organised approach to your workload.
    • Ability to maintain a high standard of performance whilst working to tight deadlines.
    • Good negotiation skills in order to negotiate contracts and solutions to problems.
    • Drive, enthusiasm and commitment in the achievement of business objectives.
    • A commitment to providing the best for all pupils at Castleford Academy.
    • A positive 'can do' approach to tasks with the ability to keep calm in challenging situations.
