Three Lane Ends Academy is part of the Castleford Academy Trust. Our Headteacher and Governors are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, creative Assistant Head teacher to join our academy. Our continual drive for school improvement means we are now looking for a candidate who can help us achieve excellence in our teaching standards and ensure that all our pupils make consistently strong progress throughout their time with us.

 

The successful candidate will:

    • ​Be an excellent practitioner who is an outstanding role model - with experience of delivering high quality lessons in a range of subject areas and coaching other staff members to achieve the same.

    • Be a reflective practitioner who can inspire and further support others to improve their own evaluation in a core subject area.

    • Be a full and proactive member of the SLT, promoting the aims and vision of the school and contributing to all areas of school improvement – including the responsibilities allocated to you in the SDP – evaluating impact and demonstrating your strategic management of these areas.

    • Monitor the impact of initiatives and strategies implemented to demonstrate effectiveness – particularly leading the development of a priority area across school.

    • Keep relevant Governors up to date with monitoring and improvements in your subject area(s).

    • Analyse complex data and understand the connections that exist between issues through breaking down problems into their component parts. Use MIS to support School Improvement.

    • Be a strong and enthusiastic advocate for change and champion school improvement.

    • Manage the further development of an inclusive and diverse curriculum to help them understand their community and the country they live in.

    • Contribute value as a leader – showing that you are passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of children and families.

    • To take an overview of all three key stages represented in the school in both core subject area, behaviour learning and attendance. Other areas for development under the Ofsted framework.

    • Develop and support middle leaders in school with following clear and coherent action plans – helping them track and evidence improvements and next steps in their priority areas.

    • Deliver high quality training and development programmes in order to meet individual and team needs.

    • Lead and manage a phase within school to ensure that high quality teaching and learning takes place that is inspirational to pupils, be aware of transition throughout all stages across the school to ensure that children make progress for years 3 – 11.

    • Support, manage and innovate parent communication, workshops and homework in imaginative ways​.
